Cerulean Descent

“Cerulean Descent” surrealistic underwater photographs depict portraits of my mother I took during our family holiday when I was a child. We use to love free diving together on summer vacations, for me, this was always a magical experience, during which my mother transformed into a beautiful mermaid in the surreal blue underwater world. Although I took these images when I was about 10 years I wasn’t aware of the expressionistic beauty in the photographic sense they possess till now.

Shoot on 35mm color negative film, with an underwater disposable camera on a Neos Marmaras beach in Greece.
